Centuries ago, royalty in India used a Champagne bottle as a racket and added feathers to its cork and casually played this game to while away their leisure hours. This amusement of theirs, gave birth to modern badminton which is a sport played very enthusiastically in The Aryan School. This year it was a huge success for our teams. Over the years, our teams have worked with dedication and great improvement has been observed.
District Badminton championship was held at the multipurpose sports hall, Ira Singh reached the finals. Amarpal reached semifinals, Shaleen Sarda and Jitpat, Vishal reached quarter finals. Though the achievement was not great but our players performed very well.
Ira Singh and Amarpal Singh Rawat were selected for State Badminton Championship under 19 category. The matches were held in Hardwar. Amarpal played well but lost in semifinals. Ira Singh reached semi finals in the double category.
On 13th October'2008 the girls badminton team left for Carman school to play the matches. The team did not fare well. Ira Singh won the individuals and was declared best player of the tournament. On 19th October, the badminton coach Mr. Amit Sharma took Shaleen Sarda and Ira Singh went to Pauri to play the matches. Ira Singh reached semifinals. In the open District Tournament held on 26 April'2009.
The Inter House Badminton Tournament was equally exciting. Even though all the houses showcased their best talents, there has to be winner.
We hope someday in the near future the rising stars will do even better..
